Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, revised version, came into force on 6 April 2007 and places responsibilities on all of the individuals involved in a construction project, it is important to identify the roles and duties of the principals at the onset of any potential project. It is particularly important to establish if the project is notifiable under the regulations and if so to appoint a CDM Co-ordinator prior to commencing on site.

If a project is not notifiable it is still good practice to prepare a Health and Safety file to identify the approach that will be taken with Health and Safety during even a small project, this is especially important where works are being undertaken in an occupied building.

It is important that any client understands their responsibilities as a potential dutyholders as all of the parties involved in a project have clearly defined roles and responsibilities under the regulations.

Ci3 look to achieve good practice in all aspects of Health and Safety whether in the workplace, during construction or after occupation.
