Sustainability & Environmental Notice

Vision

To ensure Ci3 and Ci3’s preferred suppliers minimise the environmental impact of their operations and the products that are manufactured and supplied are sustainable, use high levels of recycled material and are recyclable.

Principle

Ci3 as a design lead consultancy recognises the importance of environmental protection and is committed to operating its business responsibly and in compliance with all legal requirements relating to the supply, installation and removal of furniture. It is Ci3’s policy to operate with and to maintain good relations with all regulatory bodies.

Ci3 was founded on the principle of electronic operations, a paperless approach with current systems that co-ordinate business practices simply and efficiently. Information is wherever possible issued to clients by email with client meetings and visits kept to a minimum. Ci3 maintains a single office and supports remote working where practicable to reduce travelling and cost.

All staff have an understanding of the environment and the use of natural resources and how the business of Ci3 must have a minimal environmental impact.

The staff at Ci3 are a small team that work closely together sharing knowledge and experience to ensure solutions are:

  1. Optimum value
  2. Appropriate to the task
  3. The efficient and optimum use of product
  4. Minimise space usage
  5. Have a high recycled content
  6. Are at least part recyclable

Suppliers

Ci3 will check the Environmental Systems of all of the preferred suppliers and electronic copies will be stored centrally.

As a minimum suppliers would be expected to have Environmental Management Systems that conform to and are accredited to ISO 14001:2004 and also to demonstrate:

  1. Zero VOC (volatile organic compounds) to air
  2. Zero hazardous waste generated from production
  3. No waste to landfill
  4. Established targets for renewable electrical energy use
  5. High levels of harvested and grey water use in production
  6. High levels of recycled material in production
  7. Product design that optimises material and component use, can be refurbished and repaired for optimum life and can be fully recycled at life end.

Wherever possible product that is no longer required by a client is offered to local charitable organisations or broken down for recycling if no end user can be found.
